Functionality of the application

When someone is installing this application he has to fill his own name card. Application requires name, Age, Gender and other contact details. Then those details will be saved on the memory.
When someone switches on the application it automatically switch on the Wi-Fi1 and search for other device that one using the same application.

“A” can communicate only with “B” directly and “C” can also communicate only with “B” directly and “B” can communicate with above both “A” and “B” directly. Since the distance between “A” and “C” is larger than the WIFI range “A” can’t directly communicate with “C”.

Here we are trying to communicate “A” to “C” using “B” as a midpoint. We can connect more than three mobile devices using above technique.
Now the user connected to the Wi-Fi network and application display a list of other connected users. By selecting on of the users, he can view basic information of that user after getting permission from the desired user
Now he can communicate with connected user.
This application can be used when there are some communication issues like environmental disaster, server breakdowns and when there is no telecommunication coverage. Ability to communicate with others without any charge is a huge advantage for the Sri Lankan people.

Introduction

Project title

"Smart Name Card" is a Wi-Fi signal based small social network type mobile application.

This is an android mobile application based on Wi-Fi peer to peer network. Someone can identify the people in the specified area who use this application.

Details of the application user are displayed to others who use the same application.

Then each one can get other’s information like name, address and some other contact details.

When you are in a place that you have never been, say a conference or meeting you can identify who are the people in there.And then, it has the ability to communicate with each other without any telecommunication service provider.

This application is suitable for used in a University or in a office. It is not efficient to use this application in a wide range of area.

    Communicate with other devices using Wi-Fi connection and without any service provider. This application can be used as a social network. We can identify others who are nearby to our device.  Also we can use this application to communicate when there are some communication issues (No connections, server downs).
